Today for our maths lesson I learnt a lot about carries cubes and how many faces were painted, it a little bit confusing but when I had a few ideas about it I started to work it out. Miss stone and Mrs Tofa had helped us with the cubes.
Carries Cubes
Walt: identify classes of two- and three-dimensional shapes by their geometric properties.
Carrie has glued some cubes together to make a large solid cube with nine small cubes showing on a face.
She paints the large cube red.
How many of the original small cubes have:
- three faces painted red?
- two faces painted red? 8 cubes
- one face painted red? 12 cubes
- no faces painted red? 1 cube
Here are some photo's of the groups who were working very hard to figure out these questions.

Hi Dallas,
What helped you to solve this problem? It is great to hear that you have learnt about the different features of shapes
