World War ll

This week Weka group has been reading a book called The White Mouse, This book has told us a lot of things during the second World War ll. I hope you enjoy this book and learn something from it.

In the World war ll there was a lady called Nancy Wake. She had left New Zealand to live in Australia in 1914. She was 2 years old, As a child, Nancy dreamt of exciting adventures. She ran away to Europe when she was 16 years old, During the second world war she learnt how to shoot guns and blow up trains. She became one of the most famous freedom fighter.

Nancy Wake had lived in France with her husband, Henri Fiocca. The second world war had began, she was working as a journalist travelling around Europe. When she was in Austria, she saw the Nazi soldiers whipping and abusing Jewish people.

The second world war began in 1939 when Germany was led by Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party, Invaded and occupied Poland. France and Britain declared war against Germany. Many other countries like New Zealand, Australia,United States of America) fought alongside Britain and France during the war. These countries were called Allied and some other countries chose to remain as Neutral.

Nancy Wake, helped by bring the soldiers back that was weak and sick. About 60 million soldiers including New Zealand soldiers were killed. 

This book was all about Nancy Wake and the Germany Nazi party that was led by Adolf Hitler, The war had ended in 1939 to 1945 that was about 6 years of fighting....

Well done for completing and blogging this activity. It is great to see you describing Nancy's life. Remember to introduce the book we have been reading and activity at the beginning of your blog post. However, I am impressed that you focussed on all of the main information when retelling this story! This meant that people who hadn't read the book would understand what is happening.
