Maths

Today room 7 students had maths with Miss Stone. In maths today we talked about different types of shapes and the angles, corners, sides.

Today for our maths lesson I learnt a lot about carries cubes and how many faces were painted, it a little bit confusing but when I had a few ideas about it I started to work it out. Miss stone and Mrs Tofa had helped us with the cubes.
         Carries Cubes
Walt: identify classes of two- and three-dimensional shapes by their geometric properties.

Carrie has glued some cubes together to make a large solid cube with nine small cubes showing on a face.
She paints the large cube red.

How many of the original small cubes have:
  1. three faces painted red?

  1. two faces painted red? 8 cubes

  1. one face painted red? 12 cubes

  1. no faces painted red? 1 cube

Here are some photo's of the groups who were working very hard to figure out these questions.

Early Child centre

Today room 7 students went to the early child centre, We had to take a baby book that will be interesting for all the children who would like to read the book.

I had a little child with me but she didn't really talk much so I talked more about the DANGEROUS, but it was all about the crocodile and the mole. It was really much along book and I knew that she was getting bored of me reading to her so I asked her if she wanted to go play with the blocks.

I really had fun with the little children and I hope in the future that they grow up to remember us as their role model.

Thousand of German troops were hunting the resistance. All Nancy codes and radios were destroyed so she had a problem. She went to visit another village many kilometres away.

This part of the story was telling us that so many German troops were so desperate to find this lady, Also it was about what happened in world war ll.

Technology

Today in technology we did a mindmup. In our mindmup we had to create our own ideas for our game that we are going to do, We named it context for a game that was the title for our mindmup.

We had to do some questions about what we are able to put in and inappropriate things. My context was challenges. But first we made a new mindmup and pick one of the ideas we want to do...

Here's some questions:
Q. What sort of challenges would you include in your games?
A. Make it easy for them but when they are coming to level 20 make it difficult for them so that they won't complete it just like that...

Q. How many levels would you have?
A. 10 levels

Q. Who is the target audience for your game?
A. 10 to college age like 18... if they are interested

Q. What would the game be about?
A. A maths game that will be a challenge against another opponent for them to solve...\

Q. What legal requirements do you need to think about? eg, age limits, copyright, Violence, illegal activities or substances.

This is what I learnt in Mrs Anderson's class.

Term 4 Kiwi Can

This week, it was our first week back at Kiwi Can. Kiwi can had two new things about for our topic and theme. For our topic we had RESPECT and for our theme we had FOR OUR SCHOOL.

In Kiwi can we talked about Values and how it can apply to themselves, property, Environment, and so much more. What are values? Values are things that can relate to your family, friendship, Integrity, Property, Environment.

We all went outside to play a game called values. How to play this game. You have to have four cones that is at one each of the corners and has Integrity, Caring, Truth and Honesty. We all had to line up behind the Honesty cone. If Mr Numia calls out one of the values we all have to try and get to it with out getting tagged.

Then we went back inside and had an activity called role plays. There were five groups, All five groups were called Courage, Fairness, Friendship, Appreciation and Perseverance. Each group had to act it out, the group to go first was 2,3,4,5 and finally 1.

This week I learnt so much about values and what that was, Values I learnt that it relates to you and your family.

Kiwi can reflection

This term in kiwi can room 7 students have been learning about so much life lessons. My education has built more and more higher.

We have learnt about three different topics this year Problem solving, Perseverance and Goal setting. For problem solving it all about working together to solve the problem, Perseverance is when you keep on trying and never giving up and finally Goal setting, working on getting my goals right to at the national standards.

Long term goal is to reach another stage and a short term goal is to get good at maths or get good at timetables and divisions.During this year, these three topics has made me more and more confident in
speaking and sharing my ideas in front of audience.

Then we went out and played a game of multiple games, we were split into two teams. There were three different games like soccer, turbo touch and netball. It was cool play it because we cheered on for our classmates.

What I have learnt in kiwi can this term is what has changed in my life and I have also learnt about never giving up and keep on trying even though I miss things like the soccer ball today when we played that multiple games.
