Kiwi can reflection

This term in kiwi can room 7 students have been learning about so much life lessons. My education has built more and more higher.

We have learnt about three different topics this year Problem solving, Perseverance and Goal setting. For problem solving it all about working together to solve the problem, Perseverance is when you keep on trying and never giving up and finally Goal setting, working on getting my goals right to at the national standards.

Long term goal is to reach another stage and a short term goal is to get good at maths or get good at timetables and divisions.During this year, these three topics has made me more and more confident in
speaking and sharing my ideas in front of audience.

Then we went out and played a game of multiple games, we were split into two teams. There were three different games like soccer, turbo touch and netball. It was cool play it because we cheered on for our classmates.

What I have learnt in kiwi can this term is what has changed in my life and I have also learnt about never giving up and keep on trying even though I miss things like the soccer ball today when we played that multiple games.

Science Intensive - Mrs Moopanar

For science today some of room 7 students went to Mrs Moopanar class. In room 10 we learnt about Magnet. For a start we did three activities that was based on Magnet.

We did four activitys
  1. Follow that force
  2. The indecisive Magnet
  3. The invisible dance partner
  4. The Jitterz

  • Magnet can stick to metal
  • Stick together
  • Compatible
  • There is all types of colour
  • Magnetic force

Magnets we used:
(Bar Magnet)
(U shaped horseshoe Magnet)
(Donut Magnet)

We use three different types of  magnets one was a Bar magnet, A U shaped horse shoe and a donut magnet. Magnet is also made by gravity because if we weren’t standing right now then we would be floating in the air which will be cool.

But magnet won’t stick to plastic, Paper, Carpet, Grass or Brass. I know this for a fact because magnet is only connectable when it is metal.

I really enjoyed today's science with Mrs Moopanar, What I learnt about Magnet was how magnet can stick to metal.

Financial Literacy lessons

Today room 7 students had financial Literacy lessons with Hannah and Halsey. They have came to our school because they are teaching us about money and how to save and spend money.

We started off with 2 skits presented by Fusi and Mata then Luisa and Amelia.First up was Mata and Fusi they did a skit of Mata lending five dollars to fusi then the next day she came to mata and paid back her five dollars.

The next skit was Luisa and Amelia. Luisa skit was about her lending her cell phone to Amelia and then when she came back the next day with her phone and Luisa had asked her what happened to her phone Amelia said oops i accidentally dropped it in the toilet.

We talked about so many things that was included about regaining and trust worthy. The meaning of trust worthy is how money works in the world or to help donate, Regaining is something that people give back for an example I broke my friends phone and gave her some money to buy her a new one.

This is what we have been learning about today with Hannah and Halsey. It was so fun because we learnt about regaining and trust worthy and did some activities.

Auckland Transport

It is not the Auckland transports fault that they can't slow down trains or that people won't wait until trains have gone past that's and they think that they can make it before the train does, we have those bells so that people know when a train is coming through.

A lot of people should be safer around Auckland Transport because the driver driving the train can not slow down that easy. Old people should watch out for trains because they don't want to turn out to be in the same way that man died. Why? because some people have already lost their lives and it is really hurtful when someone loses someone that they really love especially family.

Science Intensive week with Mrs Tofa & Miss Stone

On Monday room 7 students had science Intensive with our teachers Miss Stone and Mrs Tofa. We were put into 2 groups, group one and group two. Who ever was in group 2 had to go down to room 3 with Miss Stone and Mrs Tofa stayed with group one in class. Juring this week we have science intensive week were we do science in our class rooms.

In group one we had to do a car experience with Mrs Tofa. In the car experience we had to read a paper that had law 1,2 and law 3. The first law we read was law 1, it was about force and inertia. The second law was about acceleration and the last law was about when the force is pushing the other reacts.

The girls got to build the car first and the boys did the Sir Isaac Newton quiz. After that we swapped over the girls did the quiz and the boys finally got to make their car.

Here is the steps to make a car:

Step 1: Get a few straws like about 4 or 5

Step 2: Cut the end bits of the straws that you don't need to make it shorter.

Step 3: Then get something for the balloon to hold on,

Step 4: After that tape the bottom of the balloon to the cardboard box so it can hold

Finally step 4: Blow the balloon big so that it can push your car far.

In the end of finishing our cars the girls and boys raced. The girls put their car in the middle and let go of the balloon so we can see how far it goes everyone and the teachers we yay, Then the boys put their cars in the middle and they failed we started laughing because it was so funny, they tried again and it did a front flip....

I had so much fun on monday with Mrs Tofa and I learnt so much about that yesterday.
